SEO companies do not come with a buyer beware notice.  Many of these companies claim that they will produce the best results possible for you or your company but often give the disclaimer that their methods may not give you the results you want.  It is understandable trying to nail down an ever changing algorithm such a claim appears warranted.  We discuss here ways that you can recognize what makes an authentic search engine optimization company.

Companies which boast about being number one generally are doing so because they have a hard time convincing people to believe them any other way.  This is a great sign that you need to spot because honest people run honest businesses, those people who know at they do shady things tend to gloss them over with exuberant claims.  Don’t be deceived, if a company knows that they do good work, they don’t have to boast about it.

Many online companies claim that they are the best in hopes that people do not know who to verify their claims.  The reason why this happens is that most people who are looking for someone to help them with their SEO is that they do not know how to check and see how old a company is.  Even if a company claims that they have been established for 7 years, you must remember that their just that, a company that’s been around for 7 years and nothing more.

A SEO company should never have to say that it has over 12 offices located on prime real estate.  This statement should show you that whoever owns the company obviously has money to establish itself physically. The question is can they do this online, and can they do it for their clients?   Don’t get taken just because they cover a large area of products, because their products will never help your SEO.  Even if they claim to have satisfied over 3000 companies by using their services, can you read their clients reviews or is this just their take on matters?  Also, just because a large company has done business with them does not mean you should.

Awards and recognitions by companies you have never heard of need to be spotted.  It doesn’t matter if they have been a winner of the last three awards for best SEO or that another group recognized their efforts, because what does that have to do with you?  A lot of these businesses use as many resources they can to appear credible, when in fact they may be fake.  Make sure that you research exactly what these companies claim.  Also just because some so called SEO expert or guru says they have great methods, you have to ask yourself how much that person got paid to make that claim.

The methods which companies use is also a dead give away.  Be sure to look out for jargon that ultimately means nothing.  Just because someone says they have XYZ services doesn’t mean that its worth anything.  Make sure that the company examines your websites structure and content and provides a review.  They should also offer an analysis of your competitors and be able to compare their research based on keywords and how well a site was optimized.  Page optimization consists of two parts, on page and off page, be sure to look for this.  Do not allow a company to bill you separately for each of these services other than services which involve link building.

Google themselves have informed the public that no one can guarantee a number one spot in their search engine.  You will remember from earlier that people love to boast about their services doing this.  The minute that see a company claiming this you know that they are hiding behind lies and ultimately should be steered away from at all costs.  If a company is honest, they will tell you this fact.

Once you contact a SEO company make sure you have questions already written down.  Be sure to inquire about how much experience they have in your sector.  Ask what kinds of risks are involved with the techniques which they use to improve ranking.  Ask when you can expect results and how much of an increase in traffic there will be.  Finally, ask what is expected from you. Remember if you are buying backlinks you are essentially tying them to a monthly payment. The the minute that you stop payment, is the minute that those backlinks disappear.
